HUMMINGBIRD SPECIES:
The Band-tailed Barbthroat, also known as Rucker's Hermit, Rucker's or Blue Fan-tailed Barbthroat is a medium-sized hummingbird and is a resident breeder from southeastern Guatemala and Belize to western Ecuador and western Venezuela. It has a long, arched bill, striped face, blackish throat patch and a rusty breast patch. Its tail has a striking tail pattern of black with white tips and a white base which is only seen when its tail is spread.
