Colorful Puffleg 

SCIENTIFIC NAME: Eriocnemis mirabilis

The Colorful Puffleg is a species of bird in the Trochilidae family. It is an endangered hummingbird endemic to Colombia.

It is a tiny hummingbird measuring 3.15 inches in length.

Adult males are iridescent green with a blue belly, red vent, and white leg puffs.

Females and young males are duller and often look all dark in the field apart from the leg puffs and white spot behind eye.

Feeds on flower nectar from  Clusia ,  Miconia ,  Cavendishia ,  Psammisia ,  Diogenesia ,  Satyria ,  Bomarea ,  Palicourea ,  Elleanthus ,  Burmeistera ,  Thibaudia ,  Besleria and  Dysterigma.

Relatively undisturbed cloud forest and usually feeds at low levels.
