Festive Coquette

The Festive Coquette is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae.

It is a tiny hummingbird, about 3.5 inches long.

Males and females are green mostly dark green upper parts are bisected by a pale rump band. They have a gray belly and rufous tail.

Males are dazzling with a ruff of green feathers with pale tips on neck.

Females are plainer with a dark face and pale throat.

Subtropical or tropical moist lowland f orest and heavily degraded former forest, at altitudes up to 1,000 meters.

Southeast coast of Brazil, in the state of Espírito Santo and southwest in a 2,000 km coastal strip.
