The Lazuline Sabrewing is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae.

It is a large hummingbird measuring 5.11 inches in length.

Males have bright blue underparts with maroon tail and downcurved bill.

Females are grayer on the belly with a grayish mustache stripe and maroon tail.

Diet includes nectar, reached with its long, curved bill and insects.

Subtropical or tropical moist montane forest and heavily degraded former forest.

Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.

2 white eggs are laid in large cup nests on low horizontal branches.
