The Many-Spotted Hummingbird is similar to a female Violet-fronted Brilliant but is
distinguished by lacking the typical white stripe below the eye, a blue forehead,
and paler speckled underparts. This species is found in lower Andean foothills from
Ecuador, through Peru and Bolivia, to north-western Argentina.
