The Rufous-breasted Hermit, also known as the Hairy Hermit is a fairly large hermit with a strongly decurved, long and thin bill. It has a brownish head, bronze-green upperparts and rufous underparts. Both sexes are similar but the males have yellow streakin on their upper mandible and the females maybe slightly duller in plumage and proportionally a bit shorter and more decurved bill. It breeds from Panama south to Bolivia, and on Trinidad, Tobago and Grenada.
