SCIENTIFIC NAME: Amazilia edward
The Snowy-bellied hummingbird, sometimes known by the name of Snowy-breasted hummingbird is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae.
It is a small hummingbird, measuring just 3.9 inches in length.
Both sexes are similar. Head and upper chest are metallic green. Lower chest and belly are pure white. Back and rump are metallic copper.
Tail is generally coppery in the eastern population and blue-black in the western population.
Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, and heavily degraded former forest.
Costa Rica, Panama and far north- western Colombia.
