The White-Vented Violet-Ear is a species of hummingbird in the subfamily Trochilinae.

It is a medium-sized hummingbird, about 5.11 inches in length.
It has a spangled green body, white vent, and prominent violet-blue ear patches, which are sometimes erected.

Subtropical or tropical dry forests, dry savanna, and heavily degraded former forest.
Frequently visits feeders.

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay.
