The Black-chinned Hummingbird is a a small green-backed migratory hummingbird occupying a broad range of habitats, spending winter as far south as Mexico. It has no brilliant colors on its throat except a thin strip of iridescent purple bordering the black chin that is only visible when light hits it just right.
